Are You Saved?

At the End of the Day, Where the Tire Hits the Road — Are You Saved?

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” -Isa 59:2 (KJV)

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 Jn 1:6 (KJV)

The world we are living in is becoming more troublesome, violent and dangerous by the day. Wars and rumors of war, lawlessness, Godlessness, wickedness and evil seem to inhabit every nook and granny of our lives. Even the church is not exempt from this onslaught.

Without question there is a tremendous spiritual war going on for the souls of men. Chaos, confusion, madness are becoming the norm yet most Americans are oblivious to the nasty things happening around them. One can only wonder where all this going and what will be the end of things?

Folks, God’s judgments are here and yet coming in mass. We can’t continue to sweep this under the rug anymore. We must face it head on. So I will ask all of us … are we saved? Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ? Have you professed Him as your Lord and Savior? Do you pray daily? Do you seek His face for wisdom, understanding and direction? Does He know you?

If you died today, would your final destination be heaven or hell?

Too many of our so-called Christian churches never teach on this because it’s become a taboo subject. People can’t seem to handle the negativity of such questions. In other words, friends, people have turned a deaf ear to the truths of God as told to us in His Word – the Holy Bible. Too many seldom if at all, read it, study it and embrace its wisdom. There are tons of “soft” Christians that have little to no faith and seek out churches for mainly the social aspect of their Christianity. So sad!

But back to the question … if you died today, would your soul go to heaven or hell? This is a fundamental aspect of our faith and we must face it’s truth. The question/topic of today’s message is – Are you Saved? And if not, why not? The Scriptures tell us plainly to be saved we must – Rom 10:9-10 – to be born again.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” -John 3:3 (KJV)

This is how we get to heaven – the only way (Eph 2:8-9). There are absolutely no other ways but by Christ

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” -John 14:6 (NASB)

Jesus is the only way to obtain eternal life – there are no other ways to come to the Father. NONE!

So, the ten-dollar question again to all of us – Are We Saved Today? Are you…? Will you seek the Lord’s face today, and admit you are a sinner, then believe in Christ, profess His name as Lord and Savior, profess that He arose form the dead and He is Lord?

I highly encourage all of us to meet this question straight on and answer sincerely. Then pray, on your knees, if you can and proclaim Christ as Lord and Savior of your heart, mind and soul.

Friends – seek His face today!.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.  4- Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

And then remember …

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22- Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23- Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’:” -Matt 7:21-23 (NIV)

There’s Just Too Many Christians and Christian Pastors Sleeping, Lethargic and Not Watching!

Who Will Be Awake When the Lord Returns for His Bride?

“Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36- and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. 37- Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes.” -Luke 12:35-37 (ESV)

There are just too many Christians and Christian pastors and leaders asleep at the wheel in many, many of our Christian churches, fellowships and small groups. In these [last] days the reality of the end times via Bible Prophecy MUST be preached by the shepherds and taught to the lambs and the sheep in the church – John 21:14-15.

Early Warning Systems – Discerning the Signs of the Times

But unfortunately, this is not happening. I was talking to an [arrogant, and pompous] pastor recently that would have nothing to do with “tending” the lambs and feeding the sheep with what is happening to the world currently and what is coming according to Scripture – according to what Jesus taught. Now, this is tragic … with many today who are scared, afraid, and confused at the ever-increasing turmoil in the world and especially, in the US, Bible Prophecy MUST be taught! Apparently, this pastor doesn’t quite get it! He doesn’t care if 28% of the Bible is about Prophecy. Consider how Jesus blasted the “educated” religious leaders of His time in Scripture – Matt 16:2-3.

Many Aren’t Watching for the Lord’s Return – Discerning the Signs of the Times

Now, these kinds of skirting the issues of Bible Prophecy will happen before the Lord returns for (1) His Bride, in the rapture and (2) His actual Second coming upon the face of the earth but who’s awake to these Biblical facts?

Whether you believe in the Rapture makes no difference since according to Scripture it WILL happen and those not ready for it may be surprised. Why? Read Heb 9:28. Just because you attend church regularly does NOT grant you a get-in-free pass to our Lord’s Kingdom. He does impose restrictions on entry but that is not to be elaborated in this post – for another time – Rom 10:9-10; Heb 12:14; Matt 10:37, etc.

So as we draw closer to His return (1) the signs that He told us about in His word will become more visible and pronounced. – They will increase like birth pains – Matt 24:8. Today, the signs of the end times are all around us and we must pay attention to what the Word of God teaches us. We must be alert, watching and awake to the events unfolding in the world today. For I firmly believe that the Lord’s return for His Bride is at the door.

Yes, IMHO, all these increasingly distressing signs are indicators that HE is coming very soon. How soon? You will get no dates from me, however, we are to know the season – 1 Th 5:2.

“Then He continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.” – Luke 21:10-11 (NASB)

Many Christians Are Still Fast Asleep Not Watching for His Return

Some may think this but not profess it, that He’s not going to come back because perhaps they feel He’s taking too long at it. Most, I would casually say, are not watching because they are asleep at the wheel of end days Bible prophecy. Lazy and lethargic to put it in the proper context. We have clear signposts of His return in Matt 24; Mark 13; Luke 17 and 21 and many other verses in Scripture. If you read and meditate on these you will find some interesting facts on the season of His return. But … you have to study, and dedicate some of your time to Him – in prayer and in reading His word.

The world is heading for … something getting worse and worse and the signs of calamity, disaster and distress seem to be increasing by the day. And now with wars breaking out now all over the globe. The weather is off the charts, the economic conditions of nations is bleak, and the sun is amazingly active! All this, IMO, equates to the end days of the last days before the Lord returns in the clouds to pick up His Bride – 1 Cor 15:51-52.

The big question for you is are you engaged too much in the world and distracted by worldly things thereby taking your eyes off the Lord? Are you too caught up with the stuff of regular life that you make no time to study God’s word so you will know the truth of what’s being taught at church and what’s happening on and in the earth?

Don’t be found asleep when the Lord comes. He has commanded us to watch and so we, as professing, walking, talking, living Christians must continue daily to watch for His return and the signs marking the season.

“…come suddenly and find you asleep. 37- What I say to you I say to all, ‘Be on the alert!” – Mark 13:36-37 (ESV)

Things are being shaken up pretty good these days … so are you awake or asleep?

“Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:” -Heb 12:25-26 (KJV)

Today, it’s About the Passover, the Resurrection and Freedom from Sin and Death, not About Easter Baskets, Bunnies or Eggs!

What Will Be Your Real Focus Today?

Is it About Eggs, Bunnies and Candy or Christ’s Sacrifice on the Cross?

“And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth.” -Ex 23:13 (NKJV)

Easter on the surface is a nice, innocent, pretty time filled with gifts, parties, celebrations, new clothes, flowers, colored eggs, bunnies and Easter egg hunts. But its history is dark, evil and highly pagan!

Because it’s a pleasurable fun time for young and old the ancient symbolism I will describe below how it still plays out in our contemporary Christian culture. Also, this is one of the two times each year that churches are usually well attended; the other being Christmas. It also brings to mind the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave; many say this is the holiest time of the year. Biblically, this is a great time for a Christian, a time of remembering what Christ did on the cross for us; His complete payment for our sins through His shedding of His blood through His death, burial and resurrection. But will this be the focus for Christians outside the church or will Christ be sadly put aside as we exit our services and engage in our own meaning of this time of year?

“And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2- Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the Lord your God. 3- After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. 4- Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God. 5- Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord.” -Lev 18:1-5 (KJV)

Easter is a pagan festival filled with heathen symbolism and represents the worship of idols and goddesses.

There is a very dark and evil side to this tradition of men of ages gone by. How? First of all, the celebration of Easter is nowhere to be found in God’s word – the Bible. The Apostles and the early church did not follow it. In fact, Easter is a pagan festival filled with heathen symbolism and represents the worship of idols and goddesses.

Jesus nor His disciples ever celebrated an Easter in their lives. Passover, yes. Easter, no!

The word or name Easter comes from an ancient heathen goddess who represented fertility and sex. This pagan goddess Easter has been known by many names: Asherah, Ishatar, Venus, Astoreth, Eostre and Ostara.

The ancient Babylonians celebrated the beginning of spring with a festival honoring the resurrection of the goddess, Tammuz. Tammuz is actually mentioned in the Bible in Eze 8:13-14. The Lord called worship of this kind – abominable!  Additionally, the celebration and worship of the Easter tradition is a violation of the very first commandment of God:

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” -Ex 20:3 (KJV)

The Easter festival or time of year is a age old tradition that has “infected” multiple civilizations from ancient Babylon (a nation deeply rooted in the occult and idol worship) to America right here and now. I could go on and on about this festival as it relates to evil gods and idols but suffice it to say this is not a time to be remembering what Christ did on the cross with symbols like: ‘mourning’ for lent, worshiping eggs, bunnies, or chocolate rabbits.

The enemy of our souls – Satan – has cunningly and subtly crafted “Easter” as a dark covering that snuffs out and blinds many to the real meaning for this time of the year. It should be about God’s Feast of Passover – and the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Lord and Savior.

Passover marks the time the Exodus from Egypt; as the Hebrews left their captors after the ten plagues levied on them by God Himself. Passover is mentioned in the Bible many times and certainly in Acts 12:4 where the Greek transliteration of the word Easter is really ‘pesach‘ or Passover. Passover marks a solemn time and commemoration of deliverance and freedom from Egyptian captivity. It is a time to remember and reflect in humility and thanksgiving. It is not about rabbits, eggs or chocolate!

“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. ” -Prov 4:14 (KJV)

Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples before going to the cross and His death is symbolic of His sacrifice for us. Just as the lamb was slain and its blood placed on the lintel and door posts of all the Hebrew homes the night before their deliverance from Egypt, escaping from the tenth plaque that was to destroy all the firstborn, so Christ’s blood shed for us on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. This is what Passover means to us today – a time to remember, pray and seek Him recalling His death on the cross, burial, during the time of the Passover and Unleavened Bread Feasts and ultimately His resurrection on the third day.

This is a great time to praise and worship God’s Son Jesus Christ. We should be recalling what this means to us, praying and telling others of this good news. Actually, this should be celebrated every day not just once a year.

This should be a time of great celebration and reflection in the Lord: a time for deep personal introspection, a time to win souls, a time to bring people closer to the Lord, a time to seek Him in personal prayer and a time of healing. We should shun the pagan [and evil] symbols of Easter and have no association with them for they are not of God.  God wants to be worshiped in spirit and truth and wants nothing to do with Easter goddesses served up with idolatry. But I dare say that at family and friends gatherings this Sunday people will be eating and drinking with little if any conversation about what this time of year should really be about. Little discussion on the reason Christ came, died and was resurrected. Rare talk about salvation and the forgiveness of our sins. And even rarer engagement in repentance. So what will you be talking about…?

To find a Biblical meaning to the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus the Christ, we look no farther than the Book of Romans 6:3-5. This will show us plainly that in baptism the real symbol was established in God’s word for Christ’s death, burial and resurrection and this is what we should focus on.

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his deathTherefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:” -Rom 6:3-5 (KJV)

Today, celebrate Jesus’ sacrifice and newness of life given for all on the Cross of Calvary. This is a time to commemorate the Passover and not Easter.

Happy Passover, Happy Resurrection Day!

Pesach Sameach!
